Matt Hooks grew up in Marblehead and attended Marblehead Public Schools. His mother was a longtime teacher in the Marblehead school system and he continues to have close family ties in town. Like many, Matt left Marblehead for college and to start a career and a family, and inevitably returned in 2022. He now lives in town with his wife and two young boys, ages 5 and 4. An avid sailor, he has a deep connection to the harbor and the community. Matt looks forward to raising his family in Marblehead and is motivated to help ensure the town remains a place we all want to come home to.
Kate Haesche Thomson grew up in Marblehead, graduating from Marblehead Public Schools and Bates College. She built a career in advertising agencies and now offers brand consulting services. In 2019, Kate and her family moved home so her daughters could experience the magic of a Marblehead childhood. Kate serves on the board of Marblehead Girls Youth Lacrosse and served on the board of the Marblehead Current in its early years. She is passionate about communicating the challenges facing the town and building support for thoughtful, long-term solutions that will keep Marblehead strong for the next generation.
